Wallpapers are the first thing you see when you open your computer, phone or tablet. If it’s not a pleasing image, it might be time to change it. Imagine opening up your device to a dose of delight every time.
If you want to make a wallpaper truly your own, you’ll want to start from scratch. The question is how? The answer: Kapwing. This free editing studio allows you to upload whatever you want and edit with just a few clicks. The result: a simple wallpaper inspired by you. Here’s how:
- Open a canvas
- Add the content
- Download your wallpaper
1. Open a canvas
First, open the Kapwing Studio and click ‘Start with a blank canvas’. Next, select the aspect ratio to match your screen size on the right. For example, a phone wallpaper would be 9:16 while a computer would be 16:9.
Kapwing is a free, web-based app so that means it works on every device and you don’t need an account to get started.
2. Add the content
Now, it’s time to customize your wallpaper with images, text and other overlays.
Click ‘Upload’ in the top left to add your images. Fit the image to your canvas by dragging the dark purple corners. If you need, click ‘Lock Ratio’ on the right to keep your image’s original dimensions.
Next, select ‘Text’ in the top left, edit the sample text and use the tools on the right to make it just right. Kapwing allows you to change text font, color, outline, background and add animations!
Tip: add text that’ll inspire you for years to come so there’s no need to change the wallpaper again. Check out this article about how to make motivational images to learn more.
3. Download your wallpaper
When you’re satisfied, click ‘Publish’ in the top right and wait for it to process. Finally, you can choose to download or share it to social media.
Now, when you open your device, you’ll see the exact combination of pictures and text you always wanted -- thanks to Kapwing!
