TikTok, Instagram, Twitch... the list of social media platforms continues! If you are on one, most likely you're on another. In recent months, everybody has been upping their game when it comes to content. And honestly, it's been so fun to watch.

A big trend lately, (S/O TikTok) is to add animated texts or quotes to your videos. Companies have also been using animated posters for their marketing in recent weeks. It's a fun way to add more conTEXT (get it) to your content without having to talk in the video, or write it all out in captions. In this article, I'm going to show you a fast, and easy way to add animated texts or quotes to your videos and photos.

Let's get started! Here is what you will need to do.

  1. Kapwing's Animated Text Video Maker and choose your template.
  2. Upload your video or photos
  3. Add and customize your text
  4. Save and post!

Step 1. Use Kapwing's Animated Text Video Maker

Head to your Kapwing workspace and start a 'new project'. Choose the 'collections' option. You can also get here by accessing the top menu bar and jumping to the 'collections'. Find the 'animated text video maker' and choose which template you'd like to build from. You can also start one from scratch in the classic video editor!

Step 2. Upload Your Video and Start Editing

Once you know which video you want to use, go ahead and upload it. You can upload multiple at a time or grab one from YouTube or Vimeo. Just make sure the video settings are set to public.

Step 3. Add Your Text and Animate It!

When you are in the editor, click on the 'text' on the top menu bar. Once you have formatted and arranged your text, it's time to bring it to action!

Select the text you wish to animate. Once you press 'animate', it will take you to a screen of options. Here you can customize how you want the text to appear.

When you are happy with the appearance, hit 'done' and return to the main screen. Now we will edit when you want the animated text to appear in the video!

On the left hand side where the video clip is, click on the dashes. It will take you to a screen that breaks your video down bit by bit with the added text.

Start by dragging the circle underneath the text to the place you want it to come in, and then out. Sometimes I need to press the 'play' button at the top in order to get the dragging to become responsive. Once you have finished, press 'done'.

Play your video a few times to make sure it's where you want it to be! Feel free to continue editing the video as well. Add some GIFS, more slides, the world is your editing oyster!

Step 4. Save and Post!

Once you are finished, it's time to save it! Click the "publish" on the top right corner. Watch as it renders and turns your video a beautiful finished product.
