So you’ve just made a video, and you need to host it somewhere other than YouTube or Vimeo? While the popular video sharing platforms are an amazing tool to put your videos out there, there is the hassle of creating accounts and managing channels. Or, if you created the video for work or school, you may not want to publish it on your personal channel which may have a completely different context or theme.

If you simply need to have a URL link for a video without sharing it on YouTube, Kapwing is your best bet. Using the Kapwing Video Maker, you can upload your video and create a URL link to it which will work on any browser, making video sharing easy – no muss, no fuss.

Here’s how to create a URL for your video:

1. Upload Your Video

2. Edit and Adjust

3. Publish

4. Create a URL

Let’s go through each of these steps in more detail.

1. Upload Your Video

First off, open Kapwing.com and select Video Maker, or go to your existing Kapwing workspace. Next, upload your video. Keep in mind that your video needs to be under 250 MB if you don’t have a Kapwing Pro account yet.

2. Edit and Adjust

Now that the video is up, you can edit and adjust it. Cut, trim, adjust the brightness and contrast, choose a different size – all of these tools are at your fingertips. You can also add text, subtitles, and emojis to your video at this stage, as well as change the size of the video. Or, if you want to really dig deep, you can also try adding jump cuts to your video or inserting a progress bar.

3. Publish

Once you’re happy with your video, simply hit “Publish” on the top right-hand side corner. Your video will be quickly processed before it’s ready for downloading or sharing.

4. Create a URL

To create a URL for your video, all you need to do is hit “copy link”.

Then, paste the copied link to your browser. The video will now play on Kapwing, and you can use the generated URL to share your video with friends, co-workers, or your school. Alternatively, if you need to embed your video on a blog post or web page, simply click “embed” and copy the generated code, then paste it on the page. You’re all done!
