Maybe you have an album art picture or thumbnail and want to combine it with a song, soundtrack, or podcast to publish on Instagram and YouTube. Whatever the purpose, it's simple to combine MP3, MP4, JPG, PNG, and text files together to make pictures into videos.
In this article, I'm going to show you how to make videos with photos, music, text, & more, using a free online tool called Kapwing. Kapwing's Studio allows any person to turn pictures into videos, add effects, merge files together, add music on pictures, and create montages. Here's how you can get started:
- Upload your photos and videos to Kapwing
- Edit and arrange your content
- Add your music
- Export and download
Step 1: Upload Your Photos and Videos to Kapwing
Before you get started, you'll need to know where to find your materials. Gather the photos together on your computer or star them in an album on your camera role. It can be a good idea to make a separate folder for the files you want to use, especially if you're planning to use several photos or music tracks.
Next, upload your Photos to the Kapwing Video Maker. You can start in the Kapwing Studio and click the Scenes button or go directly to the Video Maker page.
Now it's time to upload all of the images and videos to your project. Drag and drop the files from your computer or find them in your file browser.
Or, if you're on a phone, select photos and videos from your camera roll.
Step 2: Edit and Arrange Your Content
When the images and videos have been uploaded, you can preview what your video will look like. Play the montage through to see how the converted video will turn out.
Click the Edit in Studio button to go back to the Studio view. You can always return to scene view by selecting the Scenes tab in the main toolbar. The Studio offers all of Kapwing's video and photo editing tools in one place.
Step 3: Add Your Music
If you want to add music, select Audio from the top toolbar and either click Upload to select a song that you've saved on your device, or paste a link from YouTube, SoundCloud, or another place online. In the Add Audio window, you can change when the music starts, if you want to delay the beginning. You can also click "Trim Audio" to use just a portion of the audio track, or Adjust Volume to make your music softer. Once you're done editing your audio track, click Add Audio.
Back in the Studio, click the Timeline button to use the timeline editor. Here, you can split your audio and video clips, detach the original audio from videos, and make precise timing adjustments.
Step 4: Export and Download
Once you've edited your video montage to perfection, click Export in the top right corner of the Studio window. Kapwing will process your video as an MP4 file.
When your video has finished processing, click Download to save it to your device. If you're not signed into a Kapwing account, sign in or sign up using your Google or Facebook account – once you've signed into a Kapwing account, the watermark in the lower right corner will be removed from your final image.
